TSMC said on October 15 that consolidated revenue for the third quarter, ended September 30, was NT$1,494.24 billion. Net income was NT$763.06 billion. Diluted earnings per share were NT$29.43, which the company also states as US$4.60 per ADR unit. The figures are consolidated and prepared under TIFRS.
Against the third quarter of 2025, TSMC says revenue rose 50.9 percent and both net income and diluted earnings per share rose 68.7 percent. Against the second quarter of 2026, revenue rose 17.6 percent and net income rose 8.0 percent. In U.S. dollars, third-quarter revenue was $46.72 billion, up 41.2 percent from a year earlier and 16.2 percent from the previous quarter.
Gross margin was 66.4 percent. Operating margin was 58.7 percent. Net profit margin was 51.1 percent.
The mix of wafer revenue, as TSMC states it: 2-nanometer 8 percent, 3-nanometer 33 percent, 5-nanometer 28 percent, 7-nanometer 10 percent. Advanced technologies, which TSMC defines as 7-nanometer and more advanced, were 79 percent of wafer revenue.
The company’s chief financial officer said third-quarter business was supported by demand for leading-edge process technologies, and that the company expects the fourth quarter to be supported by continued demand, including what he called the steep ramp-up of 2-nanometer.
The outlook TSMC printed with the release, on its own exchange-rate assumption of 31.8 New Taiwan dollars to the U.S. dollar, is a range: fourth-quarter revenue of US$52.3 billion to US$54.3 billion, gross margin of 65 to 67 percent, and operating margin of 56.5 to 58.5 percent. That is management’s expectation. It is not a price target, and it is not a recommendation.
